Fireside Academy operates from the fundamental understanding that, like nature, each human is born with an inherent awareness of their purpose that works in syncronicity with the greater good of life. We help kids stay connected to this by teaching them to notice what they notice and focus their attention on what impacts reality the most. We priortize emotional regulation and proper care of the body as the most important tools for a life of prosperity.

We model deep awareness of ourselves and our environment. We bring curiosity to conflict and dysfunction in humans and the natural world. We teach observation, measurement, and study of life’s event’s through a neutral lense. We tap into the wonder, creativity, and possibility within each child by asking them, “What if?” Children learn that they are capable of solving real problems with real solutions. Students in our school get to experience meaning and purpose as they create true value for themselves and others.

We use math, reading, and writing as a means, not and end. Students are given freedom to pursue interests, develop talents, and solve real life problems. They learn necessary skills by running into challenges and developing the skills necessary to solve them. We provide a structure and routine that promote well being and productive work. Each student’s primary task is to create. This can be anything that produces real value for themselves and others. Students are encouraged and celebrated for sharing their work. They are then nurtured in learning to adjust through real life feedback of trial and error.
